Department of Public Safety

The Department of Public Safety exists to fill the gaps that local agencies can't cover on their own. When an incident grows too large, too complex, or too sensitive for a single department to manage, DOPS steps in to provide structure, resources, and leadership. Personnel are trained for large-scale operations — coordinating multi-agency responses, managing disasters, overseeing investigations that cross jurisdictional lines, and handling situations that require a level of authority beyond what city or county agencies hold. They don't replace local departments; they support them. When police, fire, EMS, and transportation agencies all need to work together under one roof, DOPS is the organisation that makes that possible.
